1. Who was Vincent Van Gogh? Be specific.
Vincent Van Gogh was born in March 30, 1853 in Holland. Vincent was the son of a pastor; between the years 1860 through 1880 he decided to become an artist. In 1881, Vincent began a relationship with Sien Hoomik. Sien was known to be a pregnant prostitute. Vincent used his wife as a model.

2. Why was he so famous?
Vincent Van Gogh became really famous with a painting he did in 1885. The famous painting was called (The Potato Easter). In 1888, Vincent moved to Arles and created a school of art. Vincent Van Gogh died about 115 years ago, and his paintings still inspire millions to become active in art.

3. What was happening in the United States during the time period?
            During Vincent Van Gogh time period Abraham Lincoln was elected President of the United States. In 1861, the First Battle of Bull Run was going on. In 1864, Nevada became a state of independent. On 1865, the 13th Amendment was passed down (Abolition of Slavery).

4. What was happening in your community during that time period? Did your community exist?
            During this time period my community was going through a lot of wars and slavery. In 1862 Abraham Lincoln was elected president of the United States.
